Today, I'm thankful for Skype. The ability to communicate with friends and family who are scattered over the world from me. Gmail. Twitter. Facebook. Snail mail. Telephones. Text messaging. Communication technologies (even the paper snail mail system) are truly a fabulous gift.
New Zealand, Ecuador, Switzerland, Vermont, Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Africa - all these places are so easily accessible, thanks to technology.
I love it. I love having people that I love at my fingertips, even when not literally at my fingertips.
Alas, If only I took advantage of these opportunities more often! In the end, nothing beats being able to wrap one's arms tight around a loved one. But when that's not possible, at least there's Skype. :)
